# Manage Celebrations

> Edit your birthday and anniversary celebration settings, or pause them.

Admins and managers manage birthday and anniversary celebrations in the
[Doozy dashboard](https://doozy.live) - edit their settings or pause them at any time.

## ⚙️ Manage Birthday & Anniversary Celebrations

Update the configuration for your birthday and anniversary celebrations.

### How to Access

1. Go to [doozy.live/app](https://doozy.live/app) and open **Celebrations**
2. You'll see a card for **Birthday Celebrations** and one for **Anniversary Celebrations**

### Available Actions

Use the actions menu (**⋮**) on each celebration card:

| Action     | Description                                                        |
| ---------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Edit**   | Modify message, channel, schedule, notifications, or card settings |
| **Pause**  | Temporarily stop the celebration from posting                      |
| **Resume** | Restart a paused celebration                                       |

<Tip>You can also click anywhere on a celebration card to open it for editing.</Tip>

## 🔄 Common Tasks

### Change the Celebration Channel

1. Open **Celebrations** and click the celebration to edit it
2. Update the **Channel** setting
3. Save changes

### Update the Celebration Message

1. Open **Celebrations** and click the celebration to edit it
2. Edit the message template
3. Save changes

### Temporarily Pause Celebrations

1. Open **Celebrations**
2. On the celebration card, open the actions menu (**⋮**) and click **Pause**
3. Resume anytime from the same menu

<Tip>Pausing is great for holidays, company events, or quiet periods when you want a break from automated posts.</Tip>

## 👤 Opt Out of Celebrations (As a Team Member)

Team members can opt out of having their own birthday or anniversary celebrated, from the Doozy app in Slack:

1. Open **Doozy** from your Slack sidebar
2. Select **Celebrations**
3. Choose **Your birthday** or **Your anniversary**
4. Click **Opt out**

<Info>Opting out only hides your celebration - you'll still see others' celebrations in channels.</Info>

## ❓ Troubleshooting

| Issue                                     | Solution                                                                                                                 |
| ----------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Missing team member dates**             | Connect your [HRIS](/integrations/how-to-connect-my-hris) to sync dates, or the team member is prompted to add their own |
| **Wrong date showing**                    | If connected to an HRIS, correct the date there and it will sync                                                         |
| **Someone doesn't want to be celebrated** | They can opt out themselves in Slack (see above)                                                                         |
| **Celebrations posting in wrong channel** | Update the channel in the celebration's settings                                                                         |
