# How to Connect Paychex

> Learn how to connect your Paychex account to Doozy

## Overview

This guide will walk you through connecting your Paychex account to Doozy to sync employee data.

## Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

* Admin permissions in your company's Paychex instance

## Credentials Required

* **API Key**
* **Client Secret**

## Steps

### Step 1: Create an Integrated App

1. Log in to your Paychex account
2. Go to **Company Settings**
3. Select **Integrated apps**
4. Click **Create App**
5. Enter an **Application Name** and **Description**

### Step 2: Configure API Permissions

Select **Read only** for the following APIs:

* **Company** API
* **Worker** API

If you also need to sync payroll information:

* Select **Read only** for **Payroll** and **Check** APIs

<Note>If you need access to Payroll data but don't see the toggle, contact your Paychex account manager for assistance.</Note>

### Step 3: Generate Credentials

1. Accept the **Legal Notice** and **Paychex Inc. API License Agreement**
2. Click **Save**
3. Your **API Key** and **Client Secret** will be displayed
4. Copy and store both credentials securely

## Linking Multiple Companies

If you want to link multiple companies in Paychex, you must be either a **Super admin** or **Security admin** in the parent account:

1. Register the app for the Paychex parent account (as described above)
2. Open the app via **Company Settings** → **Integrated Apps** → your app name
3. Scroll to the **Company Access** section and click **+Add or remove Company**
4. Select all companies you wish to link to this set of credentials
5. Save your changes
6. Switch to each child account using the dropdown arrow next to the company name
7. In each child account, open **Company Settings** → **Integrated Apps** → your app name
8. Toggle on **Access** and save the settings

## Enter Credentials into Doozy

<Note>You must be a workspace admin to connect an HRIS integration.</Note>

1. Navigate to [Workspace Settings](https://doozy.live/app/settings/workspace)
2. Click **Integrations** in the sidebar
3. Select **HRIS**
4. Choose **Paychex** from the list of providers
5. Enter your **API Key**
6. Enter your **Client Secret**
7. Click **Connect** to complete the integration
