# Mentoring program overview

> Find your way around a mentoring program, and see what needs you from the Overview tab.

Open **Mentoring**, then select a program. It has four tabs:

| Tab | What it's for |
| - | - |
| **Overview** | What needs you right now, and how matching is going |
| **People** | Every mentor and mentee, with one status each. See [Mentors and mentees](/mentoring/participants). |
| **Mentorships** | Every mentorship. See [Mentorships](/mentoring/mentorships). |

**Settings**, next to **Pause** and **Archive** at the top of the program,
opens the program's settings. It has four sections:

* **General:** the name and description, who can join (**Joining**),
  **Mentorship length** and **Access**.
* **Profile questions:** see [Profile questions](/mentoring/profile).
* **Track:** see [Track](/mentoring/mentorships#track).
* **Matching:** see [Matching](/mentoring/matching).

## What needs you

The **Overview** tab opens with a **Needs you** list. A row only shows when
there is something to do. When there isn't, it says **Nothing right now.**

| Row | What to do |
| - | - |
| **N mentorships to review** | Select **Review all** to go through them one after another. The row says how many have waited more than 3 days. See [Review new mentorships](/mentoring/mentorships#review-new-mentorships). |
| **N mentors need approval** or **N mentees need approval** | Select **Review** to approve or decline them one at a time. See [Approve or decline](/mentoring/participants#approve-or-decline). |
| **N mentees can't be matched** | Select **View** to open them. The row says why, which department most of them are in, how many places mentors have open and when the next one opens. See [When a mentee can't be matched](/mentoring/matching#when-a-mentee-cant-be-matched). |
| **N mentees have waited over N days** | Select **View** to see the mentees. See [Long waits](/mentoring/matching#long-waits). |
| **N people haven't answered the profile questions** | Select **View** to see them, or **Remind all** to send each of them their profile questions again in Slack. Nobody is matched until they answer. |

Mentorships needing review only show when you hold new mentorships for review. See
[After matching](/mentoring/matching#after-matching).

**Remind all** reminds up to 100 mentors and 100 mentees at a time. Select it
again for the rest.

If you can only view the program, the rows show **View** instead of **Review**
and **Remind all** isn't offered.

Under the list, a line says that Doozy matches automatically as people answer,
and whether new mentorships wait for your review or are introduced in Slack straight
away. It also shows when matching last ran and how many new mentorships it made, with
a link to the matching rules. A program that isn't active says that matching
starts once it's active (or resumed).

## Program stats

Five numbers sit below. Select **Waiting for a mentor**, **Ongoing mentorships**
or **Open places** to open the people or mentorships behind them.

| Stat | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Waiting for a mentor** | Mentees who have answered and are waiting for the next match |
| **Longest wait** | How long the longest-waiting mentee has waited. See [Who goes first](/mentoring/matching#who-goes-first). |
| **Ongoing mentorships** | Mentorships that are introduced and running |
| **Open places** | How many more mentees mentors can take now, under their limits |
| **Median time to match** | The typical time mentees waited before Doozy paired them, for recent pairs Doozy made itself. Mentorships you make by hand don't count. It reads **No matches yet** until there is one. |

## Pause, resume or archive a program

Program admins have buttons at the top of the program: **Pause** and
**Resume**, **Activate** for a draft, and **Archive**. An archived program is
read-only and can't be reopened.
