# Step: Quiz

> Test knowledge with interactive quizzes featuring automatic grading and completion tracking.

The **Quiz** step tests knowledge with multiple-choice questions and automatic grading. Use it to validate training comprehension, certify competency, or reinforce learning.

## ⚙️ Configuration

### Quiz Selection

Select an existing quiz from your library or create a new one. Quizzes are managed separately in **Quizzes** and can be reused across multiple tracks.

### Introduction Message

Optional message shown before the quiz starts. Supports rich text and placeholders (`{{user}}`, `{{manager}}`, `{{mentor}}`).

### Feedback Question

Optionally collect feedback after the quiz with a follow-up question (text, rating, or multiple choice).

| **User**          | Direct message to the track participant        |
| **Manager**       | Participant's manager                          |
| **Mentor**        | Assigned mentor (requires mentor step earlier) |
| **Mentor & User** | Group DM to both mentor and mentee             |

## ⏰ Delivery Settings

### Delivery Method

| Method          | Best For                                           |
| --------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| **All at Once** | Final assessments, certifications, shorter quizzes |
| **One Per Day** | Spaced learning, microlearning, longer quizzes     |

### Delivery Time

* **Immediate**: Leave blank to send when step triggers
* **Scheduled**: Select a time (e.g., 9:00 AM), based on recipient's timezone

## ✅ Completion Settings

| **Mandatory**          | Users cannot skip or dismiss the quiz       |
| **Reminder Frequency** | Days between reminders (1-7 days)           |
| **Reminder Window**    | How long to send reminders (1-31 days)      |
| **Custom Reminder**    | Override default reminder message           |
| **Due Date**           | Soft deadline for completion                |
| **Expiry Date**        | Hard deadline when quiz becomes unavailable |

<Warning>When mandatory, users cannot skip or dismiss the quiz. Reminders continue until completed.</Warning>

2. **Write clear questions**: Avoid ambiguity and trick questions
3. **Quiz after learning**: Add a delay step before quizzes
4. **Keep it focused**: 5-15 questions for most quizzes
5. **Explain importance**: Use intro message to set expectations
