# Channel Join Trigger

> Enroll people in a track when they join a Slack channel.

The **Joins a channel** trigger enrolls someone the moment they join a Slack channel
you choose. Use it for tracks that should start when people land in a team,
project, or community channel.

## Set it up

1. Open the track and select the trigger at the top of the canvas
2. Choose **Joins a channel**
3. Pick the Slack channel
4. Optionally turn on **Enroll again if they rejoin the channel**

While the track is active, anyone who joins that channel and passes the track's
[filters](https://help.doozy.live/tracks/triggers/overview.md#filters) is enrolled.

> [!WARNING]
>
> @Doozy must be invited to the channel before you can activate the track. This
> applies to private channels too, and Doozy doesn't join channels for you.

## Who gets enrolled

* People already in the channel when the track goes live are not enrolled. Only
  new joins count.
* Leaving the channel does not remove someone from the track.
* Someone is never in two runs of the same track at once.

## Enroll again if they rejoin the channel

This option is off by default.

| Setting | What happens when someone rejoins |
| - | - |
| **Off** | Anyone with a live or completed run is not enrolled again |
| **On** | They're enrolled again once their previous run has finished |
