The Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) is a simple yet powerful metric used to gauge employee loyalty and engagement within an organization. Adapted from the Net Promoter Score (NPS) used for measuring customer loyalty, eNPS focuses on employees and their likelihood of recommending their workplace to others.

What is eNPS?

eNPS is calculated based on responses to a single question:

“How likely are you to recommend [Organization] as an employer to others?”

Employees respond on a scale of 0 to 10, and their responses are categorized as follows:

  • Promoters (9-10): Highly loyal employees who are likely to recommend the organization.
  • Passives (7-8): Neutral employees who are neither highly engaged nor disengaged.
  • Detractors (0-6): Disengaged employees who may spread negative feedback.

The eNPS score ranges from -100 to +100 and is calculated using the formula:

eNPS = (% of Promoters) - (% of Detractors)
