Receiving an Introduction
Learn what to expect when you’re introduced to someone in Slack, whether through Doozy Roulette or an individual introduction.
You might be introduced to a colleague in Slack either because someone set up an introduction for you (for example, as part of onboarding), or because you’re participating in Doozy Roulette, which matches people up automatically on a schedule. No matter how you’re introduced, the process is simple and designed to help you connect and build relationships across your organization.
What Happens When You’re Introduced
You receive a direct message
When you’re matched for an introduction, you’ll get a direct message in Slack from Doozy. This message will tell you who you’ve been introduced to, either one-on-one or as part of a group.
Say hello and break the ice
Use the direct message to introduce yourself and start a conversation. Not sure what to say? Doozy often includes icebreaker questions or prompts to help things get started.
Pick a time to meet
Decide together on a time to meet. We’ll suggest times based on when all participants are free.
Choose how to meet
Once you’ve picked a time, decide how you’d like to meet. You can:
Use a Doozy video room (which includes games, icebreakers, and quizzes)
- Pick another platform like Google Meet, Zoom, or Teams
Meet in person, if that’s an option for you
Enjoy your introduction
If you’re using a Doozy room, enjoy the built-in video, icebreakers, and fun activities. Otherwise, connect however you like and use this opportunity to get to know your colleague(s) and build connections across your organization!
