Open 🚀 Start a Doozy

Search for “Start a Doozy” in the Slack Search box and select it.

Choose 'Quiz'

Select a quiz you've previously created from the dropdown

or create a new one!

Configure your quiz settings

Quiz Distribution

Choose where and how to send the quiz:
  • Post in a channel: The quiz will be posted in a specified channel for everyone to see
  • Send to channel members: All members in a specified channel will be sent the quiz in a private message
  • Send to individual(s): The quiz will be sent to specified individuals
  • Send to group(s): All members in specified groups/teams will be sent the quiz
  • Send to managers: Send the quiz to managers in your organization
For private channels, make sure Doozy is invited first.

Quiz Configuration Options

Scoring System

  • 1 point: Simple scoring with 1 point per correct answer
  • 100 points + bonus speed points: Enhanced scoring that rewards both accuracy and speed to make quizzes more competitive

Leaderboard Visibility

  • Share with participants: Allow quiz takers to see the leaderboard and compare their performance
  • Private (organizers only): Keep results private - only organizers can access the leaderboard

Response Time Limits

Set how long participants have to answer each question:
  • No time limit: Participants can take as long as they need
  • 1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30 minutes: Quick-fire options for fast-paced quizzes
  • 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours: Longer time limits for complex questions

Introduction Message (Optional)

Add a custom message that will be posted before the quiz starts to provide context or instructions.

Mandatory Completion

Choose whether quiz completion is required:
  • No: Quiz participation is optional
  • Yes: Participants must complete the quiz, and reminders will be sent to those who haven’t completed it

Reminder Settings (when mandatory completion is enabled)

  • Reminder interval (days): Set how many days between reminder messages (e.g., every 1, 3, or 7 days)
  • Maximum reminder window (days): Stop sending reminders after this many days (e.g., 30 days)
  • Custom reminder message (optional): Override the default reminder message with your own custom text
Reminders aren’t sent on weekends and are only sent during working hours.
