Permissions decide which roles can schedule each type of activity. Scheduling covers activating, pausing, and resuming an activity. A role only lets someone schedule activities they created or were added to on the activity’s Admins tab. This applies to workspace Admins too.
Only workspace Admins can view or change permissions. The API calls this role owner.

Change permissions

  1. Open Settings → Members & access → Permissions.
  2. Choose Admins only, Admins and managers, or All users for each action you want to change.
  3. Select Save changes.
Changes apply in the web app and Slack. If a row shows no selection, its saved settings don’t match one of the three choices, for example after an API change. Choose an option to replace them. The Account API also supports role choices for each activity type. Managers normally also hold the Member role, so a Member permission can grant access to them too.

Default permissions

These defaults apply to a workspace without custom restrictions. Existing workspace restrictions stay in place until an admin changes them.

Celebrations and time off

Celebrations and time off announcements are workspace-wide, so they don’t have per-activity admins. Admins and managers can manage all of them. Members never can. This isn’t configurable. To change a person’s role, use the member list in Members & access.
