The Mentorships tab
The table lists each mentorship’s mentee, mentor, status, Why they match and dates. Chips above it filter by status: All, Needs review, Introducing, Ongoing, Completed and Canceled. Select a row to open the mentorship.Mentorship statuses
A canceled mentorship shows its reason instead: Rejected, Mentor changed,
Ended early, Left the program or Couldn’t introduce.
A mentorship’s page
Select a mentorship to open its page. It shows:- Dates: when they were Matched (or Paired manually), when they were Introduced, and when the mentorship Ends (or Ended). A bar shows how far through an ongoing mentorship is when it has an end date. If Slack couldn’t introduce them, the reason shows here.
- Why they match: the reasons Doozy paired them.
- Track: how many steps of the program’s track they have done, with each step, and a link to the track.
- Profiles: the mentee’s and mentor’s answers side by side, one question per row. When both pick from a list, the options they share are highlighted.
Review new mentorships
If you hold new mentorships for review (see After matching), they start as Needs review. Doozy introduces them only after you approve it. Find them in any of these places:- Overview: the Needs you list shows N mentorships need review. Select Review.
- Mentorships: a banner reads “N mentorships need your review before Doozy introduces them”. Select Review on the banner to start a batch. Or select Review on one row to start at that mentorship.
- The mentorship’s page: select Review.
- Approve (or A): Doozy introduces them in Slack.
- Decline (or D): opens Find another mentor. See below.
- ← and → move between mentorships. One you’ve decided shows Approved or Declined. Ones you skip stay on Needs review.
Find another mentor
When you decline, Doozy never suggests that mentor for the mentee again. Then pick one option from the list:- A mentor. The best fit is selected first. Each mentor shows how many mentees they have and the answers they share with the mentee, and the selected mentor shows why they fit. Select Next to see their answers next to the mentee’s, then Approve.
- A mentor matching wouldn’t pick. Select Show N mentors matching wouldn’t pick, or search by name. Each shows why, such as Full or Declined before. If they’re at a limit or don’t match on everything set to Required, Doozy warns you, and you can still pair them.
- No one yet: leave it to matching, then Leave to matching. This says what happens next: matching looks for another mentor straight away, the mentee waits for the next scheduled match or for you to run matching, or no other mentor fits yet.
Pair people yourself
- Open the program’s Mentorships tab.
- Select Match manually.
- Choose a mentee who’s waiting for a mentor, then a mentor. Each mentor shows how many mentees they have, for example 1 of 2 mentees.
- Select Pair.
How a mentorship is introduced
Doozy opens a Slack group message with the mentee and mentor and posts an introduction. It names the program, the cohort if they have one, why they were matched, and the answers each of them chose to share with their match. Introductions go out a few at a time to stay within Slack’s limits, so a large batch can take a few minutes. Each mentorship is introduced once. If Slack can never reach one of them, for example because they’ve left Slack, the pairing ends, the mentor can take another mentee and the mentee waits for another mentor.Track
A program can have one track. It starts for each mentorship once Doozy has introduced them, and runs for the mentee with the mentor already set. If the mentorship came from a cohort, the track runs as part of that cohort. To add it, open the program’s Settings and select Track. Create a track opens a new draft named after the program. Start from an existing track copies one of your per-person tracks into a new draft and leaves the original unchanged. In the builder, the trigger is fixed to When a pair is introduced in the program. Steps can go to the Mentor or to Mentor & user (shared DM), and can mention{{mentor}}. The Mentor Assignment step isn’t offered. Nobody
can be enrolled in the track by hand.
The track starts for new mentorships only while it’s active. The Track section lists
its steps, who each one goes to (Mentee, Mentor or Both) and how
many mentorships are on it. Program admins can Edit track, or pause, archive or
delete it from the menu beside it. Viewers can only see it. A paused track
doesn’t start for new mentorships; mentorships already on it keep going.
Each mentee starts the track once per program. When a mentorship ends, the
track stops sending to that mentor. If the mentee gets a new mentor, their
running track switches to the new mentor and group message without starting
over.
Mentor limits
Each mentor has a limit on how many mentees they take at once, and can have one on how many they take in total. Each mentorship counts toward the limit at once until the mentorship ends. Doozy recounts each mentor’s mentees every night to keep this accurate. Set the limits under Mentor limits.Change a mentor
On the Mentorships tab, open an open mentorship’s menu and select Change mentor, or use Change mentor on the mentorship’s page. Pick a mentor from the list, select Next to check their answers next to the mentee’s, then select Change to and their name. The mentee gets the new mentor and Doozy introduces them. The old mentor gets a Slack message and can take another mentee. For a mentorship that Needs review, select Decline in the review instead. See Find another mentor. When a mentorship ends
- Cohort end date: a mentee who joined from a cohort finishes when the cohort ends.
- Mentorship length: set this under Settings › General. Without a cohort end date, mentorships end that long after they start. Changing it only affects new mentorships.
- End early: on the Mentorships tab, open a mentorship’s menu and select End mentorship, or use End mentorship on its page. The mentor can take another mentee, and the mentee goes back to waiting for a mentor.
- From Slack: either person can mark the mentorship complete from the App Home.
