Every mentoring program has one list of profile questions. Each question is asked of mentees, mentors, or both. You edit them under Settings › Profile questions.

Edit the questions

  1. Open Mentoring and select the program.
  2. Open the program’s Settings and select Profile questions.
  3. Select Add questions or Edit questions.
  4. Add, reword, reorder or remove questions, then save.
The editor is the same one surveys use, with the same question types. Each question has a chip that says who is asked it: Mentees and mentors, Mentees only or Mentors only. A question asked of both can be worded differently for each side. Select Word it differently for mentors, then write what mentees see and what mentors see. For example, mentees see “What would you like help with?” and mentors see “What can you help with?”. Both sides pick from the same options, so their answers line up. Profile questions always record who answered, so they can’t be anonymous. They don’t appear in your Surveys list. Rewording a question keeps the answers people already gave to it. Don’t ask for name, department, job title, office or start date. Doozy takes these from your HRIS.

Share answers with a match

Set each question’s visibility to Shared with match or Admins only. The default is Admins only. When it’s Shared with match, their match sees that answer, including answers already given. Other answers are visible only to the program’s admins and viewers.

How people answer

When someone joins as a mentee or a mentor, Doozy sends them a Slack message with a Continue button, the same button their App Home shows. It opens the questions for their side, and the message changes to Answers saved as soon as they submit. Doozy never sends someone a second message while they still have one to answer. People who aren’t on Slack don’t get this message. Someone who is both a mentee and a mentor answers each side’s questions separately. If you add a new required question, everyone on that side who has already answered gets a message asking them to answer it. Optional questions and reworded questions don’t send anything.

Who can edit the questions

A program’s admins can edit its profile questions and sharing, unless the program is archived. Viewers can see them but not change them. Manage who’s an admin under Settings › General › Access.
