Each step performs one action at its scheduled day and time. Choose a step type, add its content and select who receives it.

Per-person recipients

User means the person enrolled in the track. Depending on the step type, you can also send to their manager, their direct reports, specific people or a Slack channel. After a mentor is assigned, Mentor sends to that person and Mentor & user (shared DM) sends to the pair. A mentoring program’s track already has its mentor set. All these steps follow the enrolled person’s schedule, even when someone else receives them.

Broadcast recipients

Choose recipients on each step: a Slack channel, channel members by DM, groups or specific people. There is no enrolled User, manager or mentor to select. A cohort broadcast can also send to the cohort’s channel. The program must have a channel configured. The builder only offers destinations supported by the step and track type. Webhooks call their configured endpoint instead of sending to a person.
